Survival Kit: a cleanse, a planner, a checklist, a label maker, scheduling a checkup/massage/energy healing, a day at the spa, exploring a mode of healing that calls to you
When 5 planets (1 comet) are swimming around in the intuitive, sensitive waters of Pisces ---- the full moon in Virgo comes in to ground us back into our bodies, and into the earth. In fact, surrendering to this earthy moon’s tendency towards organization, a healthy body, and becoming clear on your tangible service in this world may help to balance the palpable shifting tides of emotion.
The Virgo full moon is a complement to the sun (and right now also Neptune) in Pisces and through their contrast they challenge us to develop our utmost potential. The Virgo- Pisces axis is the axis of Spirit & Service. It is the flow of the universal love (Pisces) to the service of our bodies and others (Virgo). It is water and earth -- the cultivation of our dreams through the care, and thoughtful honing of our craft.
Pisces season is a time of dreaming, dream work, and delving into those hidden, intuitive parts of your awareness right before the astrological New Year begins in Aries (on the spring equinox). Our attention turns to the care of our spirit – and to the unity of all life. The ego quiets and we feel the energies and stories dwelling just underneath, the life both seen and unseen. We become whole, or we work through the feelings that keep us from feeling whole. Our sensitivity heightens and we may notice the state of our personal boundaries with those around us. Pisces can subconsciously absorb the feelings of others in order to help them heal. In such union with spirit and feeling, they can also feel a unity with their company and surroundings – acting out the energies and feelings of others. This is where time alone can be crucial to clear and reinforce boundaries. Taking the time to notice which feelings are theirs, and which aren’t. Solitary creating and creativity with no purpose in mind can be incredibly healing. Painting, dyeing, baking, working with color – an activity that will help you to fall into timelessness, kairos, magic time – can be a healthy outlet for the waves of feeling.
As Virgo is an earth sign, the attention also turns to the material. What seeds do we want to plant this year? What is the state of our finances? We will be releasing blocks about money, relationships, our health, and our larger path of service. The energy of the full moon may bring the blocks around these topics to the surface so that we can heal. It may feel messy, but on the other side there will be clarity and space for the habits that will best serve you.
This is a great time to schedule a massage or check-up, work with traumas held within the body, or even just go to the spa for a day. Or if you aren’t able to do those things, create a spa, or healing space at home. Virgos find an immense consolation in lists, organizational systems; everything neatly labeled and in its place. Take out your planner or journal and list or plan out the small steps you need to take to get you to your goal. As Virgo can also rule mentorship, you may feel the draw to go back to school or find a teacher you can apprentice under. This full moon tells you are ready and able to take those practical steps.
Meditating on where to channel your energy will be incredibly fruitful right now. With our intuitive senses heightened, we can engage with our body and senses by returning to our breath and simply noticing. The messages we need may arise to our conscious awareness. The moon in Virgo trines sensible Saturn in Capricorn, and from this grounded place we are reminded that our bodies hold so many of the answers we need to hear, if we just listen.
Listen to your body and see what self care looks like for you right now. Any actions taken for you health and wellness right now will be amplified, so that by the end of this full moon you will feel nourished from the inside out.
