Nelson, BC is a tiny utopia in the middle of British Columbia. It was entirely worth the 8 hour journey, and it is one of the few places I've traveled to where I arrived and just immediately felt at peace - like I was in my own home. What was once an old mining town transformed into a small village that never quite made it past the 1970's - I've never seen so many VW vans in my life. The little town housed 3 food coops all buzzing with friendly people. The sun was out our whole time there which gave us plenty of time to leisure in parks and take in the constant view of mountains and lake. I don't think I've gone anywhere quite this beautiful.
